The Nystrom/Herff Jones Education Division* will provide one $1500 cash award to a K-12 teacher (or group of teachers) for an exemplary classroom presentation. Also provided is a one-year NCGE membership, waiver of the annual meeting registration fee, and an award banquet ticket.
Formats may include lessons, simulations,
workshops, or other learning activities.
Applications must be postmarked no later than April 18, 2008.
Winners of a Nystrom scholarship award are required to present their lessons at the National Conference on Geography Education in Dearborn, MI, October 9-12, 2008 in order to receive the scholarship.
These workshop sessions are scheduled to last 45-minutes.
In order for the lesson to be considered for the scholarship award, a 2008 NCGE/Nystrom Call for Proposal/Presenter Registration form must be completed and submitted. If your lesson is chosen for a Nystrom
award, your registration will be refunded to you. All required
NCGE/Nystrom materials are due before April 18, 2008.
