Articles are chosen from the July/August 2006 through May/June 2008
issues of the Journal of Geography. Awards are given for the
- Best Content Article for Elementary;
- Best Secondary Teaching Article;
- Best College/University Article; and
- Best Article for Geography Program Development
Not all awards are given each year.
Solicitation for nominees will be published in the NCGE newsletter,
Perspective, in the April 2008 issue.
Nominations may be made by colleagues or may be self-nominations. The
deadline for JoG award material submission is June 30, 2008.
The Journal of Geography Awards Task Force seeks articles that:
- Encourage and support research in geographic education
- Develop, publish and promote the use of curriculum, resources, and learning materials.
- Promote geographic education.
The Journal of Geography awardees will receive a plaque at the 2008 National Conference
on Geography Education.
The awardees will be selected by the Task
Force, but Task Force members welcome suggestions from NCGE members. Please forward
your recommendations to the Task Force Chair:
